Your Lowcountry Holiday Guide
There is no place I would rather spend the holidays than right here in Beaufort. Our small town is filled with charm, festivities, and of course tons of Southern hospitality this time of year! While Beaufort is the perfect place to live your best Lowcountry Life year round, there are so many events and activities that make it even more special during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.

December
December 3-5, 2021 Holiday Weekend
This is my favorite weekend of the year! Downtown Beaufort comes alive with lights, music, food, shopping, and family fun the first weekend of December. The monthly event “First Friday” hosted by the Downtown Beaufort Merchants Association and the City of Beaufort goes all out for a “Night on the Town.” Check out the merchant specials, live music, giveaways, Christmas lights competition and window decorating contest; and come see me at The Beaufort Inn for special photos with Santa!
On Saturday, you won’t want to miss the boat parade in the bay waters. Local boaters decorate their boats in magical and sometimes hilarious lights and put on an incredible show for viewers lined up along the Henry Chambers Waterfront Park.
On Sunday, the annual Christmas Parade marches around town and down Bay Street. You’ll see floats, marching bands, golf carts, and personal cars and trucks in all celebrating the holiday season. Keep your eye out for Santa himself with the Beaufort Fire Department.
December 3, 2021 Gullah Kinfolk 2021
This event is a cultural treasure and a local favorite! Save the date for this year’s performance of Gullah Kinfolk Christmas Wish held at the USCB Center for the Arts on Friday, December 3rd at 7pm! Click here for tickets and information.
December 11, 2021 Season of Joy – A Cultural Holiday Celebration
Prepare your heart and spirit for the season of joy. Beaufort Theatre Company presents a joy-filled holiday celebration of various faiths, cultures, and traditions.
December 18, 2021: Wreaths Across America-Beaufort
One of Beaufort’s beloved traditions is the Wreaths Across America Beaufort ceremony. This nonprofit organization is ran by an entirely volunteer run organization with support from friends all over Beaufort County, families of service members buried in Beaufort National Cemetery, the local business community and service organizations. On the day of the ceremony, you can watch or participate the laying of hundreds of wreaths on the gravesites at the Beaufort National Cemetery.
You can find more information on sponsoring, volunteering, and helping with this ceremony here.
